Bearkats ink home-and-home series with Oregon State

HUNTSVILLE – Officials from Sam Houston announced a future opponent for Bearkat Football on Wednesday, adding a home-and-home series with Oregon State.

The series with the Pac 12's Beavers will begin with the Bearkats trekking to the Pacific Northwest on November 8, 2025 for a game at Reser Stadium in Corvallis. OSU will return the game with a visit to Bowers Stadium on September 6, 2031.

So Oregon State is covered until Pac football returns in 2026. Wazzu still has one more open slot for 2025 for which the Flames could be in play. Their potential open dates are October 4th, & 18th as well as November 22nd.

In case you were wondering, all our four non-conference games are in August & September. CUSA doesn't release their league games until February. So we could still score a Wazzu game and then buy out our Zero week opponent Maine. Justr laying that out there.

The "nobody wants to play us because we might win" stuff has always been suspect to me. Is it because we are LU? I don't understand how we could schedule teams when we were independent and now it's apparently a struggle. I believe I saw our upcoming schedule for the next, like 7 years....has ONE game with a P5 scheduled, and that's VT. I've tried defending it, but then you see opportunities like the PAC looking for games and become hopeful, then....

I know you can't make folks play us, but there is underlying causes I can't figure out. A LOT of really good G5's are getting solid games and yet here we sit, worst in CFB for the past two years and based on projections....for several years to come.

Something has to give.

It seems there are numerous G5s...equal to or better than LU, who have little problem scheduling P5s.

One thing to consider that gets over looked is what Liberty’s asking price is for games. I know of 2 P4’s who wanted to schedule but didn’t want to pay the asking price. The second Thing to remember is that when LU first moved to FBS they had a really nice slate of games and teams on the future schedule. They all backed out or had to be cancelled due to conference rules.
I’m 100% certain the weak SoS is not lost on the Administration and they are doing what they can

Take this for what it is worth. At the church where I pastor we had a young man who transferred out of Washington State where he played for Mike Leach to the local college here in Butte, MT and he told me how disgustingly liberal, progressive and evil the ideology and worldview is at WSU. He knows of Liberty and his thoughts were there would be no way the AD at WSU would ever go for a game against LU. Oregon State is very similar in their thoughts towards LU as well.
