anyone get a load of the sweet "wind pants" the officials have switched to now?
hideous.
the whole outfit now makes them look like something straight off the old chain gangs of the deep south

NOT SO BAD AFTERALL
I just finished watching the Seattle-Denver game. I can't say it was a well played game. Seattle looked sluggish. Denver didn't look too bad, but they committed four turnovers. Jay Cutler looked decent for a rookie. Matt Hassleback looked hurt.
But it was a close game, and when Seattle went up 14-13 I was pretty sure they would win.
Of course, they had to make it interesting by letting Denver tie it up at 20. And another game winning field goal by Josh Brown (who, I might add, made a great tackle on a kickoff).
However, what I'm really posting about is the officials' uniforms. You'll recall I had a major hissy fit about the change to the uniforms that the game officials wore. Mainly that they looked . . . oh, I don't know . . . icky came to mind. They look like an Australian rules football team.
However, I think that the cold weather gear they have is not so bad afterall. I can't find a picture right now, but if you watched the game you saw them. They aren't as bad looking as I had feared. And the cold weather uniform actually looks better than that new gawd-awful shirt with the traditional knickers . . . and that stupid NFL logo pasted in the middle of their hats. You might as well have a hat that says "World's Greatest Dad."
Anyway . . . I like the cold weather uniforms. They do look like they'll keep the guys warm. I guess they aren't so bad afterall.

I am glad to see that censorship is alive and well...
...I wasn't sure to post the picture of Sterger in the refs outfit was going to fly...
...I guess not. Perhaps this will fly and not offend the powers above...

I think the new officials' unis make them look like Ukrainian soccer goalies, which I suppose is OK b/c you don't really need the refs to be the guys on the field getting the style points. I've got to say that I don't like the logo on the hat, however. It stands out all right on the white referee's hat but, on the black lids, I think the logo looks like the lamp on a coal miner's helmet. I keep expecting the back judge to run in w/ a pickaxe in one hand and a canary in the other.
