well the ACC won the opener as the worst team in the league by the media n.c. state beats a more talented michigan team. The ACC IMO is stronger thie year and there is no reason to believe that the big ten will finally win this thing. this is how i think things will pan out in this year's games:
MD/Illinois- ILLINI
Duke/Indiana- duke
FSU/wisconsin- wisconsin
penn st./GT- GT
miami/northwestern- miami
mich st/BC- mich st.
iowa/VT-va. tech
UVA/purdue- purdue
ohio st/UNC- UNC
clemson/minnesota-minnesota
6-5 ACC wins. yeah i picke my hoos to lose...they have not won a road game in quite some time, so till they prove they can, im gonna pick against em. i do like what we they have going though. and sly, save your big 12 superiority for another thread

Basketball is a whole other story from football. The Big XII is a quality league but not the ACC by any means. But then again, no league is as overhyped as the ACC with the possible exception of the Big East.

Is this even a challenge anymore? Isn't it just the ACC beating up on the BigTen.

IU had a chance last night to win that game in the last minute... Give them credit for being down by 15 at halftime and almost pulling it out on the road.. .BTW DOOK sucks bad this year!!!!! (Who said that I love UNC to much????)

Life was more fun when the ACC got to beat up on the Big East. On the wish list would be a Big South-Southern Conference Challenge (or CAA).

Big game tonight. #1 vs #6 is very exciting to have so early in the season. Is it just me or does no team seem very dominant this year? How many #1s are we gonna have this year? I really think that this years championship is up for grabs to a ton of different teams. If a midmajor were to get a championship, this is the year.

The scary thing is Ohio State doesn't even have their best player. I would love to see Oden vs Hansbrough battling all night.

Which is why OSU will lose. They're an above average team without him but nothing more. Then again UNC doesn't exactly look like an allstar team at this point either. That #1 ranking is all hype at the moment. Even when he does play we've never even seen him play at this level so who knows what happens then.
I just think this year is crazy. I can't remember a year where there is no clear top 10. It seems like anybody in the top 50 would split games evenly with each other.

GMTM, you got me by a game last night, but the ACC dominates as usual. the carolina game was excellent and the UVA/purdue matchup was good. i went to the VT/Iowa game which ended up being pretty good as well.

That was one fine basketball game last night between UNC and OSU. Particularly impression is #34 for Carolina, who can do that sky hook with both hands. He and Tyler will make a formidable duo this year. I wish that Oden was able to play, for he looks like an absolute man-child. OSU will be a force come tournament time, and it would not suprise me at all to see both teams match up in the final four.

I'm pretty sure Oden is at least 30 years old.

He certainly looks like it.

Ohio.St is going to be very tuff down the stretch this year.... It's nice to see the boys bounce back from the Gonzaga lost last week and beat 2 top 25 teams in a row
