Ok
Wonder if something else is going on, because that seems pretty harsh after going 7-3 and going to a bowl during a pandemic. They actually won their first 7, then had a really bad loss to Rice, but the last 2 to were to UAB and Buffalo; both solid teams.

Very odd to me. I’d be perfectly happy if he ended up in some staff capacity at the University in the State. I thought for sure he was a Lifer there. Guy loves West Virginia and I hope it’s possible for the Mountaineers to tap into that some way. He certainly put his time in and paid his dues at the States Junior College

Apparently the WV governor hates the guy and wants to replace him with Bob Pruett according to my "sources"

Marshall's AD is likely gone next. Both of their contracts were up this year and it's a political mess behind the scenes.

Is there no Justice in WV anymore?

The guy had like 5 10 win seasons.. they went 13-1 in 2014 and were a point away from being 14-0 thats wild.

The word on the Marshall boards is that they plan on promoting their DC Brad Lambert who got canned at Charlotte after going 22-48 in that program's first seven seasons.

Never forget that economics could be pushing some of these moves in the pandemic collegiate landscape.

That seems like a poor move by the Herd, very poor move.

maybe the Governor should have "cleaned house" in Morgantown, also.

meaning...? They don't have enough money to pay the guy at the current rate so they hire someone cheaper from within?

A quick google search reveals that Holliday was making $755,000. That certainly doesn't sound exorbitant.

It’s WV.

New Prez has had it in for Doc almost from start.

No, no need to clean house in Motown yet. Holgs left a disaster, Brown building a Nehlen-esque program, culture-wise. Justice has a lot less power in Morgantown than in Huntington.

According to a writer for the Herald-Dispatch, which is the local newspaper in Huntington, 5 persons are being given early consideration for the opening HC position at Marshall:
1. Gerald Parker--OC at WVU
2. Brad Lambert--DC for Marshall & former HC at UNCC
3. Mike Furrey--asst. coach for Chicago Bears
4. JaJuan Seider--asst. coach at Penn State
5. Mike Bartum--asst. coach for Philly Eagles

In addition, two sentimental fan favorites are Herd alumni Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich.

Lastly, 2 longshots are mentioned--Tony Gibson, DC at NC State and Rich Rod, who is currently unemployed. All 9 of these candidates have some connection to either Marshall or the state of West Virginia.

Byron Leftwich would be my first choice, with Rich Rod #2.

Leftwich's name is being mentioned for several NFL head coaching positions that currently are vacant. I don't see him wacing nostalgic for the Tri-State area anytime soon.

I agree, which is why I was wondering what Sly meant. You can't get much cheaper than than in FBS.

Looks like the Herd has found their next HC: Charles Huff, who was an assistant RB coach and top recruiter at Alabama. BOG meeting and press conference scheduled for tomorrow, but the Marshall website is already making an announcement about the hire.
