With travel baseball and softball playing again, why doesn't the NCAA lift the recruiting dead period for D1 coaches ?

My first thought is budgets. Lots of schools dealing with budget cuts. If the dead period is lifted, it’s have’s and have-not’s.

And travel ball is not playing in every state yet.

I have a co worker who lives in Pittsburgh. Drives to Ohio every weekend so her kid can play baseball

Depends on where it is in Ohio. Steubenville, for example, is only about 40 miles from Pittsburgh. Youngstown is not much farther. (I used to live in Pittsburgh)
