Commonwealth Games of Virginia

Baseball and softball will be played at LU on July 25-26. There are 101 softball teams entered as of this morning.
I believe baseball has 4 teams, (South, North, East, and West) (high school age players)

Baseball divides state into 4 geographical regions for high schoolers, whereas softball has numerous travel teams from 8 or 10 U, up to 18U.

It was great being back in LU baseball stadium today. The North team defeated East team 8-5 to win gold medal.
Softball returns to LU next weekend.

Softball returns to Liberty Softball Stadium Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. "Pool play" Saturday and championship games on Sunday.
They are also playing at Peak's View Park and other venues around the area.

Commonwealth Softball Games are in the books. 98 teams, 229 games over 2 days. I watched 10 of the games, Cider watched 4 or 5 if my memory is correct.
A LU commit playing in the 16U bracket, hit line drive over 220 sign in CF today.
