Purple Haize wrote:I agree, and I mentioned the same earlier in the thread. Perhaps VT knew that and never seriously considered him. It's also possible they pursued him and he declined. I think GM has passed his peak at WSU. He will be hard pressed to duplicate what he did a few years ago with the final 4 run and the undefeated regular season. If he wants to contend on the national stage again, he probably needs to re-examine his priorities. Mike Young may work out great for the Hokies. Time will tell. Considering his age and local connections, he is probably someone they can retain, even if he has a lot of success there.oldflame wrote:I never thought he was a serious candidate Be wants to be at a basketball school. ballcoach15 wrote:job jumping is sometimes called greed.Based on your posts, you have a job. If you were to take a job in Alabama that offered substantially more money and better working conditions, would you consider yourself "greedy"?
Cider Jim wrote:Ballcoach, for both Buzz and Young, I don't think it was about the money. While you may be correct, Young went from making $175k to $2M overnight. This changed his and his entire family's lives.
ballcoach15 wrote:job jumping is sometimes called greed.Yeah, screw that capitalist stuff! Looks like we have a liberal socialist on our hands here guys!

Add to that the fact that the facilities at A&M are among the best around, and I have zero problem with his decision.
