A very entertaining game. UNC is shooting near 50% and still losing! Martin has 20 points. Should make for an interesting 2nd half. As much as I hate Winthrop, this is good for the Big South no matter how the game ends.

You should be happy Critic. You want Big South teams to do well outside of conference. It makes our conference ranking better and it means more if we beat them. UNC is pulling away now. I know that's your squad though.

Winthrop is good. Very good. Bradshaw was hurt too. If they lose a game in the Big South I will be very surprised.

After seeing Winthrop, I was saying the same thing. Bradshaw was awesome, so was Torrell Martin, but I think Martin was worn down. UNC is unbelievably deep. Winthrop played better, just ran out of gas.

Carolina had more talent, that's why they won. They didn't play better. Before you think it's just some random person saying that, look at my signature and realize I hate Winthrop almost as much as Dook.

Winthrop will lose a couple games this year in conference, I know they are good and chances are will win the big south tourney, but every team has off nights and men's basketball in the big south isn't like the women's (if LU women have an off night they still win)...if you have a bad night the teams will take the opportunity....ie see the LU-Winthrop game last year....but Winthrop is a very solid team, and could make some noise tourney time

I hope our boys were watching. Maybe light a little bit of that upset fire underneath them.

Sorry SCAR but I am not a Winthrop fan.!!!!! But if WU won (which they didn't) then it would have made the Big South look somewhat better. I am a LU and UNC fan not WU fan.

winthrop is a solid squad aand is certainly the favorite to win the big south. the games mus tbe played though. you never know what could happen with injuries. carolina fans rest assured you will improve fast and will be in the mix come post-season. just a lot of young talent that needs to gel.

The Winthrop showing was most impressive. There is a whole lot of talent on that team, and perhaps they will win some of the non-conference games this year and increase the Big South's conference RPI.

This might get me banned, but I am a Gregg Marshall fan and am glad he decided to stay at Winthrop. The success his program has should force the rest of the league to step up their programs to compete. This year's team may be the best I've seen in the Big South.
