How is it going searching for the next coaching prospect you can train up for a G5 school? I hear Rice could use your help developing a new coach for them. Thanks in advance for being such a great stepping stone for my friends down here in Houston.

You're not very good at smack talk.

He lives in Texas, that really kind of invalidates much of what he says

Considering we’ve already started this discussion elsewhere your smack talk game is late. But you are welcome to Dana. He will do a fine job for you. He took WVU as far as he could

Is it official that Dana H. is leaving ? All I have heard are rumors he's going to Houston.

Houston hasn't announced but WVU is already searching.

Sly, thanks for not going after Doc Holiday at Marshall, who actually WON a bowl game for the Mountain State this year. You all are welcome to take as many WVU coaches as you want. Good riddance, I say!

There were $1.5M reasons for UH to hold off until now to announce anything. I guess Morgantown isn't almost heaven to some folks.

At one time I despised WV, but one year I met Coach Bill Stewart at a coaching clinic. After that, I sort of started liking WV, though they were far from my "A" list.

Does anyone know if that is a raise or pay cut from what he was making in Morgantown?

I guess playing catch up to UCF is worth it? I'm not sure he is worth it but i guess time will tell.

The $1.5M was in regard to the buyout changing in the calendar year. Yes, he's getting paid big boy money by Tillman Fertitta to come back down to Texas. It was a substantial raise.

He should thank UCF for making Houston overpay for him just in an attempt to play catch up

Isn't RichRod out of work? Maybe all would be forgiven, and he could come back to WVU. Purple and JK, what say ye?

It was a 2.5 million buy out prior to Jan 1 then “only” 1 million after that
I also believe he is getting a pay raise
Neal Brown seems to be the focus at the moment

Rich Rod should have never left WV.

Rich Rod is the new OC at ... wait for it ... Ole Miss.
And yes, the Billion Dollar Buyer is the man behind the UH money moves. He also now owns the Houston Rockets for what it is worth.

Wow, after all these years, Rich Rod finally got promoted to the varsity (aka, the SEC). I guess his time coaching the JV team in Morgantown didn't hurt his career that much after all.

If a G5 wants to match a Top 25 salary of a P5 Head coach who has had middling results at an admittedly tough place to recruit/win, so be it. Holgs was never fully embraced by the fan base, nor did he fully embrace them. He’s a bit of a shady character. And he took it as far as it would go. His days were numbered the day Oliver Luck moved on.
I loved Bill Stewart.

I always thought Dana H's downfall was he lost some big games he should have won.
