If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Bryce Harper becomes a free agent this year. There's no need for him to leave the Nationals and sign with another team.
If it weren’t for free agency, player salaries would be minuscule compared to what they are right now. He will have given the Nationals 7 years of his time. His contract will expire. He deserves the opportunity to receive fair market value. Should all workers be required to stay at the company that hires them out of high school or college? Your argument is not a winning one.

I don't think Harper is in any danger of having to apply for EBT card or Energy Assistance to pay his electric bill. In my opinion there should be a salary cap for all professional sports. Most players are not worth what they are being paid.

You’re moving the goalposts. He deserves the chance to make as much as a team is willing to pay him. Baseball has the luxury tax which serves as a type of salary cap. We can argue about whether they’re worth their salaries, but that’s not the point of this conversation.

You're a big Trump fanboy ballcoach. Should he have had a salary cap? Once again, you are essentially relegating athletes to a sub-human status where they do not have the rights everyone else has.

I rather be a Trump fan than a Hillary fan.

My final comment on this thread. I am heading to Alabama.

This thread is totally derailed. Supposed to be about a QB from some podunk school down south and Ballcoach has turned it into a free agency argument.

Why trump over Hillary?

What does “worth” mean to you?

Ballcoach, you’re arguing against free agency like a socialist! You said Harper shouldn’t sign elsewhere for more money because he isn’t hurting for an EBT. Are you serious?! So everyone should just make an average salary and never be permitted to seek more when a company is offering it to him?!

Sounds like typical socialist thinking to me. Maybe military employee thinking? Where does this come from?!

FAU just went 11-3, won the CUSA Championship, and won a Bowl Game.

Liberty will be an independent playing their first year as a full-time FBS member when he is eligible to play.

That's a pretty steep drop off.
agreed its the lane kiffin connection to a team that will probably have a chance at a UCF like season at some point down the road.

absolutely nothing like LU

the mlb is worth 42 billion dollars. player payroll is only 10% of that number. do you think if they made less you'd pay less to enjoy the sport? you are making my brain hurt.

It's been a while since I've seen such a string of comments as asinine as what I have seen from ballcoach15 in this thread.

When I started following MLB in 1963, the game was much better than it is today. It was good until free agency came along.
