LSU beat FSU 5-4 Saturday. Former LCA pitcher Zach Hess struck out final batter to earn the save.

The CWS is down to 4 teams left. LSU vs. Oregon State in one bracket, and Florida vs TCU in other bracket.

I hope Florida and LSU meet in finals.

Most old timers already know this, but I just double checked to make sure. Zack Hess, the 6'6" freshman reliever for LSU who played for LCA, is the son of former LBC basketball standout Karl Hess (PG from 1976-80).

I heard from a friend who was watching one of the LSU games that they were discussing how Zack ended up there. They said his dad wouldn't let him go to any ACC schools.

I, along with thousands of other ACC basketball fans, can't stand Karl Hess. Not bitter at all.

Gators win 6-1 to capture series. Hess got lit up. 2.1 innings, 3 hits, 3 BB, 4 runs.
