Even though I am not a Cards fan (Go Sox), His story is pretty remarkable considering his road to the MLB (they did a story on him awhile ago about how he was always told he would never make it because he was too small, etc...)

I bet the fans of St. Louis are finally glad to overlay the last memory of someone winning a world series in their park...

He seemed to put it all together at just the right time in the Fall Calssic. I love hearing about his living arrangements and library card. But its just good to see an everyman step up in the biggest spotlight possible.

Some one from the LU Baseball team should look into getting him to stop by convo and to visit with the baseball team sometime in the future (maybe after the initial World Series Whirlwind subsides) on account of:

He was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. David was voted "Most Helpful", " Grittiest", and "Sweetest" in the Class of 1993.
