If we jump to 24k in 3 years to meet the expansion and fill the bill for the bigger opponents, we would be on par with schools like Marshall, App St and Hawaii. Only one FCS school averages over 20k, and that is Montana at 25k.

Thanks. I actually visited that site, but thought the links only had "championship" attendance records.

In 2015, Coastal averaged 8,818 fans per home game. The average attendance for ALL of FCS home games was 7,652. Coastal was 35th in attendance, ahead of 87 other teams. I am sure that "winning" contributed greatly to that. I am also sure that playing in the FCS, in the "big" south contributed to lower numbers. I think being at the FBS level will help a little, but being in the Sun Belt will not be as big of boon for them as the games we have scheduled.

Lastly: It has been mentioned that Coastal's location makes it attractive to fans of the visiting team. I think this is true... but it also makes attending an unimportant football game less attractive to home fans!
