Well, the first poll is out and the top four are: Clemson, LSU, Ohio State and Alabama... with Notre Dame sitting at 5 and Baylor at 6.

My thoughts? The loser of the BAMA v. LSU game on saturday will be out by next Tuesday. If Baylor wins out, they will jump ND in the final poll. The only way the SEC gets two teams in is if BAMA beats LSU, wins out (as does LSU) and the Big 12 falls apart... which could happen. I think Baylor is in, however.

LSU, Baylor and Iowa are overrated. Stanford and Michigan State are underrated. I'm also not sure that Clemson should be first, although, I understand the argument. Other than that, I thought the poll was great. I'm glad the committee isn't rewarding teams for simply going undefeated and instead is rewarding teams for having a tough schedule.

The team that is flying in under the radar at the moment is Oklahoma. That loss to Texas isn't indicative of how good they are and the last three weeks have proved that. After this week's game against Iowa State, their schedule consist of Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma State. If they win out (and that would be a tall task), they could jump into the discussion.

I seriously doubt that Baylor wins out.

Every Big 10 team is over rated. Two best teams are LSU and Alabama. Even after Saturday, they will still be the 2 best teams.

Clemson
LSU
Alabama
Baylor

Whoops! Looks like someone forgot to watch the games. You realize LSU is a really good RB and then a bunch of mediocrity, right?

And a few weeks later...still think LSU is top five worthy?

LSU was guilty of pouring everything they had into Alabama game and coming up short. I read somewhere yesterday that after most teams play Alabama, their season "goes south". LSU fell in this category.

The answer is: "LSU doesn't have a legitimate quarterback and was overrated to begin with."

ESPN has been known to over rate teams.
