Taking a knee with 39 seconds left on the 35 and one TO remaining is indefensible. They were playing with house money at that point. No way they should have played for OT.

This. We were in the EQ room screaming at the Jville head coach to go for it.

Auburn simply did not come to play, but hats off to Jax State for coming to play. I once lived in Jacksonville, AL. Good football town.

This. You don't give the clearly more talented team any extra chances to win the game.

The only question I have going into the decision is were they on the +35 (in Auburn territory) or the -35 (Jacksonville State territory)? If they were in plus territory, I absolutely would be going for it. According to what I could find, their kicker Connor Rouleau, had a season long of 48 last year, so what I would have done, if this was in plus territory, is run a pass play to the middle (deep in or post). If the pass is completed, you can run up, spike the ball, and set up your field goal unit (if the receiver does not break it for a TD that is). If the pass is incomplete, and there is a defensive penalty, you accept. If the pass is incomplete and there is NOT a penalty, you run one more play and try to get positive yards. Don't run anything toward the edges, keep the ball as close to the center of the field on that play call. and make sure that running back holds onto that ball like it was his own child. call the time out and then send out your field goal unit.
If they were on their own 35, the options would be a bit more limited. you still want to go for it, but you will probably have to eat up some significant chunks of yardage on each play. Id probably have your receivers to the wide side run go routes and try to draw a penalty. Of course I would much rather they catch the ball, but if they can get a penalty and move the ball into range without expending much more clock, an incompletion would not be the worst thing in the world because it becomes almost like a free timeout while they reset the chains after the penalty.
Either way, going for it was definitely the best option.

Don't ever let a more powerful team take you to OT. Then advantage goes to them.

That moment when PH thinks he's posting as himself but is still logged into his "ballcoach15" account, so he covers by responding to himself.
