The VHSL D3/D4 baseball and softball tournament will be at LU Friday and Saturday. D3/D4 are playing at best venue in state for VHSL championship games. I wish they could have D1/D2 at LU also.

I think there are more D3/4 schools in this area so it's a good place to have it. I agree. It's a GREAT place to have it

LU is by far the best venue in the state for VHSL tournaments, in every sport. I plan to be at LU at 9 tomorrow morning and watch every game.

Logistical nightmare to have more than 3A/4A in Lynchburg. Especially in baseball, you can only play so many games at one place in one day. When they held 1A-4A at Radford, half the baseball was played in Pulaski. Radford had two soccer fields to split that sport up. Some softball was shipped off to Salem. The VHSL has split things up the right way, with two classes each at three different venues.

I wish they wouldn't play all divisions on same day. I would watch every state championship baseball and softball game if it were possible.

If you go to softball, check out the ninth-grade pitcher from Carroll County. She's getting interest from SEC programs and the like.

I read about her. Hopefully she will go to LU, VT or a SEC school. I see too many good players go to Longwood, Radford or JMU. I despise those schools.

Why all the hate, ballcoach?

I just do not care for them. After LU and Virginia Tech I not like any state school, other than UVA baseball.

The freshman pitcher from Carroll County is good as advertised. She can bring it. CC won 3-2 over Deep Run. I thought who ever was calling pitches should have called more change ups and rise balls.

Lighting delay @ LU. But I have yet to see any. Light rain shower right now.

LU commit Jack DeGroat has been tearing it up at the 3A baseball semis. 14 K through 6 shutout innings (including 3 where he struck-out the side)
I don't know how to embed tweets so here's the account of the one of the guys covering this game.

I watched parts of all 12 games at LU. Two good softball games today, both 1-0 games.
