we weeded out 4 very selfish players (transferred) last year and brought in intelligent team first players..looks like it might be paying off.

Of course they'll be improved. They aren't playing in the ACC any longer...

It's not just leaving the ACC they're undefeated with wins over a good Arizona State team and a ranked Iowa St. The team from lat year would have lost both of those games in a dramatic and incredibly heart-braking way. For proof see last season's games against UConn, Syracuse, Duke and the ACC tournament game against FSU, all of which ended on the last shot which MD either missed or gave up to the other team. Now that the most selfish players since Terrell Stoglin are gone and the best players since Juan Dixon are in... it's going to be a good year.

I think they just lost their leading scorer to a broke wrist.

Yeah he's going to be out for about a month but the team is MUCH deeper than last year. We had a 5'9" walk-on as back-up PG for the first month of last season, that won't be a problem this year.

Why is he 5'10" now?

No, they have more guards that are good. After Seth Allen was injured Roddy Peters turned out to be a bust which left 5'9" D3 transfer walk-on Varun Ram the only capable ball handler and only 2 other guards. Now with a McDonald's All-American at PG, an ESPN top 100 SG stepping in for the injured Wells. They'll be fine, Wells will be back in time for conference play and shooting the lights out and breaking the rims of every arena in B1G land.
