Indy as FBS

I've read several quick comments on different threads as to why Liberty would NEVER go as an independent in FBS. The first problem I understand fully. The NCAA would have to allow that to occur. That would be one hurdle to overcome, but can someone lay out a reasonable argument why Liberty would never go that route? Here are a few of my thoughts.
1. All other sports would remain in the Big South with football only going independent.
2. It's not like it's not being done currently. BYU, Army, Navy and ND are FBS independents.
3. Scheduling is typically the concern brought up. Several conferences are talking about no longer playing FCS schools. That means they would be forced to schedule all FBS schools. You can't tell me that we wouldn't be able to get some home and home series with teams from the MAC and SunBelt. We could likely get ODU and possibly Marshall as well.
4. Being FBS makes us more attractive to other conferences. It's likely that the only reason Idaho and NMSU are in the SB right now.
5. What are our other options? From what I've heard is we've done everything possible to get into the lowly SB, including throwing a ton of cash at them and we we're still shot down. I don't think we have any other options at this point.
How long will students and fans continue to support the team when were playing Presb, Charleston Southern and other teams that most sports fans have never heard of?

Have you been to the Mega Thread? It's been hashed out more than an all night diner.

The Big Ten will call, and Liberty will be replaced by Penn State as they transition down to FCS. Was that the answer your you were looking for?

I would rather not read all 9,000 I'm not sure why the question is so offensive to some. I laid out what I think are valid points. If you don't want to respond that's fine. I think it's our only way to FBS.

It's not legal.
It's not possible.
It's not allowed.
Those good enough reasons?

So you are lazy or you haven't been following. Those of us who are neither would rather have YOU do some research on your part. The question has been answered. It's up to you to find it.

1. The Big South would not agree to such an arrangement. We'd probably end up like Monmouth...football leaves and other sports get booted out.
2. BYU, Army, Navy, and Notre Dame were either independent before the NCAA said no independent move-ups or went independent after the fact. Plus...unless things changed and I missed it in the mega-thread, Navy will be joining the AAC for football.
3. Only the Power 5 are talking about the no-FCS rule. The Kent States of the world would still be free to schedule their only shot at a win each season.
4. NMSU and Idaho are in the SB due to the WAC's desolving. Its a marriage of convenience, not because the Sunbelt actually wanted them...except to keep Liberty out, of course. The MAC unanimously said no.
5. There are no other options to get to FBS except a conference invite. In the meantime, lets just focus on dominating the Big South outright for once.
Finally...no one's really offended by this...its just been hashed out ad nauseum forever and a day in the megathread, starting around page 150 and continuing. Plus you answered your own question at the start...its never going to happen unless the NCAA changes its rule. The idea of suing the NCAA to change it was even discussed in that thread.

Maybe someone can convince Mike Trout to stop playing baseball and come to LU for football. He still has eligibility, right? He'd make a great RB.
