IMO they should start the playoffs around Labor Day. Once football starts baseball is no longer relevant If the baseball playoffs coincide with Thr start of FB season is think you'd get more fans.
Of course 15 years ago I thought there would be something akin to the P5, LAX would be the big new youth sport and LU would still be FCS/1AA so what do I know

And I hope I like them just as much or more next year. Disappointing game to say the least.

I am not a fan of the 1 game wild card "playoff". I am not just saying that because my team lost. I wasn't last year either when the Bucs won it. I don't consider them to have made the playoffs this year. It's stupid for MLB to get a team's fans excited for the playoffs and then give them one game to prove they belong. One hot pitcher like the Pirates ran into last night and your season is over. I would prefer a single wild card team from each league like they had previously. Or better yet, shorten the season a couple or three weeks (you're welcome PH) and create a true wild card playoff with 3 wild card teams and the worst record divisional winner playing, like the NFL wild card games. That would create more fan interest IMHO.

The last thing we want is a 2-month long NBA-style playoff structure. Ugh, shoot me in the head.

Go Tigers.

I'm all for shortening the divisional and league championships to 5 games. Or get rid of the 2nd wild card spot. The way it is now is ridiculous.

That would mean far too much loss in revenue for the league. But I hear you.

I'll take statistics over self promotion by mlb and someone trying to argue that those statistics don't really mean what most people think they mean. Also, MLB's publicity piece states that this year was the 7th highest attendance of all time. With the nation's largest population ever. And as many teams as there has ever been. I love baseball but there is no where near the excitement and passion nationally about it as there was when I was a kid.

This is the best Orioles team in my lifetime, by far. Not saying much I know but for a few years I thought I would never see a Orioles team that even managed .500
