Shaq Johnson at Longwood arrested over a dance-off.
So many heckling and sign ideas for a visit to Lynchburg.

Heard about this a few days ago but didn't make a comment anywhere since I didn'twant to be doing any rumor mongering in case it was false intelligence. Will be interesting to see what comes of this...
Glad to see Coach Gee is bringing in such high character people to the area though

The reaction of the school is what most intrigues me. Seriously?

It is kind of odd, but they can't really say much of anything right now.Though I'm sure they had the sense to coordinate with the campus police for how to comment without screwing up any legalise.

“This is an example of what can happen at a party when you have alcohol involved,” Mooney Said. “The problems we see with Longwood students are almost always when alcohol is around. Alcohol was being used by people there, and it altered their judgment.”
I just love how he singles out Longwood...as if HSC students don't do the same thing.

Well the person that did do the alleged assaulting is a Longwood student, which occurred on Longwood's campus at a party hosted by (I assume) Longwood students, and after all the article is for a Longwood newspaper, not a Hampden-Sydney newspaper. So naturally the topic would be singling out Longwood students, not to mention the possibility the reporter may have asked a question in the manner that would specifically single out Longwood students.

Pretty sure he was talking about Police's comments...

What proto said...the comment was from a Farmville police officer. Now I get that technically HSC is outside the Farmville town limits, but lets be honest here...both schools know how to party.

I am guessing he is responding to a specific question about longwood, but who knows.

Yes, I know. The policeman was talking to a Longwood reporter about something involving a Longwood student, thus his comments would be focused on Longwood. If a Liberty reporter comes talking to you about something involving a Liberty student, you don't talk about Randolph college, for example.

I'd probably just say college students without singling out a particular school. His comments made it seem like Longwood students were the problem, even though HSC students attended and both schools can throw some pretty good parties.

Agree with that. My guess is the reporter probably asked directly about Longwood students given cop's response, which would have been poor questioning by the reporter.

Who cares about the alcohol commentary- some of you know how to go overboard regarding the silliest things.. not as silly as punching someone over a dance off, but silly nonetheless! Focus on the heckling!
