Thoughts here on the draft and how you think your team did

Houston and Jacksonville are making some of the dumbest decisions that I've seen. Jacksonville could have traded down to get Bortles, but they took him at 3. Jadeveon Clowney is a great player but there's no reason the Texans should have taken him.

Unless a guy like Luck or Manning is on the board, I would always trade the first pick.

Clowney wants to be great in the NFL. And will be. That's why IMO he will be more motivated than in College.
Johnny Football could be a Cowboy?!
Not sure why Cleveland traded up 1 with Minnesota but I like their moves. They could end up with Carr or Bridgewater. I would have liked to see them take Fuller from Tech though.

I think Clowney will be great too, I just think Houston should have gone elsewhere.

I'm on board with Cleveland so far. My favorite part of the draft is rounds 4-7. ha

LOVED the GNC commercial. Especially the settings on the treadmill

I like the C.J Mosley pick by the Ravens, Ozzie is trying to avoid it but it's hard not to compare him to Ray Lewis. (That's the last time I'll make that comparison, unless he wins at least one Super Bowl and plays for more than 15 years)

I didn't want to go there but I hope he doesn't do anything that stupid.

I was at a draft party for the local sports radio station tonight and when Blake Bortles was announced, the shock in the room could have blown windows out. That was a MASSIVE reach by the Jags..if they really wanted him they could have gotten a trade with Tennessee at 11 or made a value pick early in round 2 on him

These guys usually do a pretty good job. Before the draft started yesterday, they had Walt Aikens going in the 5th round to Jacksonville. Their updated mock draft has Walt going to Pittsburgh in the 3rd round.

Big South has now had 3 players drafted, through mid 6th round, the Sun Belt.... 1

No surprise that the three Big South players drafted came from LU and Coastal. I don't know what the Dolphins secondary is situation is but Walt could get some playing time. Lorenzo, the guy from Coastal that got drafted, according to the Ravens website will most likely start on special teams and if he contributes he'll earn some back-up minutes behind Ray Rice(unless Ray ends up in jail)

Yup...and the Browns traded away that pick...knowing they need a WR with Gordon looking a suspension down the gun barrel

Michael Campanaro is a freak of nature he was instrumental, along with the dirty hits that injured Steffon Diggs and Deon Long, in Wake's "upset" of Maryland this year. I'm glad he's not at Wake anymore and playing for a team I actually like.

Why does every thread you comment on end up being about Maryland? No one else cares. You need to get out more. There's a great big world out there.

That's the last intentional one I promise. I only used that as an example because that game was the only time I saw him play. But if the Ravens or O's come up in the Non-LU sports thread for whatever reason I can't make the same promise.

Ex UT QB Gilbert was drafted by Rams.

It's kinda sad that a program as respected as Texas had no players drafted when I know at least one DII player got drafted. I don't follow the late rounds to closely so there could be more, but either way it's still sad.

Just curious about everyone else's thoughts, but am I wrong for thinking that the sole reason that the Rams drafted Michael Sam, was for publicity?

Disagree. He's a local guy, late-round picks are throwaways, and you know he's going to work his tail off to make the team and prove people wrong. No NFL coach wants MORE media attention than is warranted. You don't take Sam if you don't have an interest in him trying to make the team. Though no one will give a rat's a** about how much Sam Bradford stinks with Sam in camp, so there's that.

There is a great line in that last sentence, but I will leave it alone.
