This kid is amazing. He tops out at 103 mph. His slider is 86mph. It's sick. It's just fun watching him pitch. He basically goes out there and says, "Here, I'm throwing a fastball, I dare you to hit it." And he's only 21.

i thought the same thing and honestly besides Billy Wagner, i can't think of many pitchers who currently have hit 100mph with consistency over the last few years. He is very nasty and i am sure when his contract is up he may get a bundle of $$$.....my only question though is does anyone know if he was a starter in the minors or is he being groomed as a long term setup guy/closer?

My understanding is that the thought is of him being a starter. Of course, Wagner was a starter, too, in the minors and was thought of as one when they brought him up.
