Orlando will host a third college football bowl game at the Citrus Bowl, sources told the Orlando Sentinel.

The Orlando Sports Foundation, which originally pitched the Cure Bowl as a game that could be played at UCF’s Bright House Networks Stadium and would benefit breast cancer-related charities, will manage the new bowl. It will not be affiliated with the Florida Citrus Sports, which oversees Orlando’s Capital One Bowl and Russell Athletic Bowl.

The game is expected to match teams from the American Athletic Conference, UCF’s current league, and the Sun Belt. It will be played before the Russell Athletic Bowl in December and would not conflict with any potential College Football Playoff or national championship games Orlando hopes to host in the future.

It initially appeared the new Orlando bowl would be played this year, but the game is now on track to debut in 2015.

This would be the Sun Belt's 4th bowl tie-in.

This will be like pouring salt in our wounds when JMU joins next month.

WOW what happened to all the Sun Belt optimism? It seems like everyone on here changes what they think will happen daily.

the people who have been here a while have no optimism, myself included.

No one has been here longer than me and I remain mildly optimistic. Although I admit that the CCG deregulation talk is not helping matters.

I've used the term "delusional optimism" before, I think it fits here as well.

Well "delusional" on it's own would mean I think our football team could go undefeated in the ACC's Atlantic Division(FSU and Clemson's division) and could beat Bama, Baylor, Notre Dame and Stanford in OOC, before beating Michigan St. in the National Semifinals and Auburn in the National Championship. NO I DO NOT THINK THIS COULD HAPEN THIS YEAR OR EVER. Delusional optimism is slightly more reasonable like thinking we could go 11-1 this year with the schedule we do have and the conference we are in.

If you are delusional, why should we listen to anything you say?

A friend of mine called me delusional when I said the Ravens would win the Super Bowl last year and since they did I came up with the term "delusional optimism". It is different than actual delusion, it only deals with sports teams not any other area of my life. And "delusional optimism" is a lot less of a mouthful than "extreme optimism bordering on delusion"

EDIT: Thread successfully derailed.

Don't forget Rooster Head either. Liberty can do know wrong to those three.
