The article didn't mention that SWAC schools generally can squeeze in only one game a year due to their league scheduling setup. The biggest challenge for most SWAC schools is continuing to convince state officials that they need an expensive athletics department when their schools are swimming in red ink. I would watch the state of Louisiana & Mississippi where there is legitimate talk of combining sinking ship HBCUs with existing state universities. How Mississippi Valley State is still operating as a DI school is beyond the scope of my imagination.

Sounds like someone at ESPN wanted to play the race card. The fact is that the strength of schedule metrics being incorporated into the new playoff system are going to effect all FCS programs that look for the revenue from guarantees. The fact that it's going to hurt the HBCU's more is further proof of the degradation of those schools and an indictment of their leadership.
