It was made public just before pro-days and the combine. He's generated press and probably will get picked higher in the draft because of it. Those who think his draft stock has fallen are greatly mistaken. When he gets picked, it will be news. If/when he starts his first game, it will be news. When he records his first career sack, it will be news. Essentially, whoever drafts him will have their logo plastered all over the place, because that will be the logo that Michael Sam will wear on his helmet. He'll probably play in the league 2 to 3 years longer than he should because he said he's gay. My point is that timing is everything.

All I can say is, thank God he isn't a quarterback because we would never hear the end of it.

it won't matter. hope this kid can perform under a microscope because thats what his combine will be like. his combine will be what determines his draft spot. just like mantei. he just wanted to get out in front of the gay stuff which is fine and preferable. there will be teams that don't draft him now but i'm not sure it will affect where he'll be drafted anyway moreso than the combine.

gays are all upset with the idea of him turning the lockerroom topsy turvy but they don't get it. its not gay guy + straight locker room = turmoil. its gay guy + media attention = turmoil. reasons why moss/owens/johnson are barely given sniffs once their usefulness wanes.

i give the guy 2 years before he's diddlin ladies anyway.

He was a questionable pick before this. A case of good college player and tweeter pro. At 6'2" he's short for a DE, but who knows. I don't see it affecting his draft status either way. T'eo was drafted... But what it will do is fill one of two narratives. The first being is if he goes in the late rounds people will say its because he is gay and the NFL execs are a bunch of knuckle dragging mouth breathing homophobes. If he goes in the earlier rounds it will be because the NFL is such an enlightened league and is doing everything it can to embrace the world.
From a Christian standpoint it's sorta funny to me. I could not care less. It's like a guy going on camera and saying 'I'm an adulterer'. Ok, good for you. Im not going to celebrate that guy, Sam or someone who is involved in a murder at a night club. But it is football and I want to know if you can play or not. That's what I'll judge you on. I don't know them well enough to work on or judge their soul

Disney is super gay-friendly. Disney owns ESPN. ESPN has been milking this story for all it's worth. This irritates me.

This is where you're totally off. It's completely different than a woman being in the locker room. You'd be attracted to the woman. You're not attracted to the gay player.

And from the other side the gay guy may not be attracted to you so there is that.

kinda. i work in the IT field. we have numerous gay people at work. we a few years back started going to the gym. one of the non gay guys dressed elsewhere. he stated eventually when prompted that just as why women and men don't share lockerrooms he doesn't want a guy that might be attracted to him to see him naked and that he was uncomfortable with it (the guy doesn't dissapprove of gays either) many of those guys have partners and he was under the assumption that like his wife wouldn't want him dressing with other women, these guys' partners wouldn't want them gawking at other dudes.

i'm making that longer than the conversation really was but the 2 gay guys were like, that makes total sense and all was handy dandy. (poor word choice) per ESPN, he's a bigot mouthbreather (see vilma)

gay people won't hit on a guy unless they are fairly certain they are gay, but that doesn't mean they won't take a little peek peek.

for me, unfortunately, i've never been shy of being nude in front of anyone so this didn't bother me. (however as i'm now married and have responsibilities, i don't take advantage of my proclivities any longer)

it holds merit in some instances...but can be delt with pretty easily.

Not different at all there is a possibility of that gay person being attracted to you even if it is just a small chance..although im pretty good looking 8) JK..it would just make me uncomfortable..

I agree with your whole post, but I think this is the big thing. It can be dealt with by a simple conversation.

Jeter is retiring. ESPN will cover this non-stop until December. Sorry, Michael, you don't matter now.
