Less figure skating. More sports we don't see very often. Fewer X Games competitions as well.

because bob costas hates that they are part of the olympics. So if it annoys him, it makes me happy.

Which is why I liked the figure skating guy wearing a shoulder holster!

Less Olympics, more football. I like football in the snow.

the olympics especially the winter ones are so incredibly boring yet are flocked to religiously because of patriotic pride. to each their own obviously, my wife loves it.

we watched moguls the other day. my roommate for those few days (a co worker, we were in austin for work) was like, "she should get a decent score on that one. better than the last", i was like, "outside of speed, how can you tell? they are doing the exact same thing!??" the person got a lower score and he just shrugged and goes, "like i know what the heck i'm talking about. "

When you take near unwatchable judge based activities and add "fans" who watch 4 hours of the sport every 4 years, its a recipe for disaster.

Less Winter Olympics. It's all basically nonsense outside of Hockey.

I'm not even sure Patriotic furor is a big draw now that the Soviet Union is no more. I did like the downhill last night. Partly because I was hoping to see a wipe out at 80 MpH and partly because the 'Lake Jump' was really cool

I enjoy the Olympics (and sports in general to be frank) and its fun to watch the freestyle sports and analyze the little nuances (or big ones when somebody totally beefs it off a jump) that separate the medal winners from the last place finishers. That's just me though

Wait, you were in Austin? Lucky guy.

I actually find some of the sports entertaining. The snowboarding stuff so far is mildly entertaining if only for long enough to see it over and forget about it. I agree that hockey and downhill/Super G are the things that I actually admit enjoying. Luge & bobsled are both fun for about a day.

Too much judging in the Winter Olympics. I much prefer the sports that require only a starter's pistol and a stopwatch.
Exceptions in the WO include downhill and cross country skiing. Those guys are nuts.

sorry call me an awful person but watching the women do pretty much anything is awful. their display on slopestyle was downright hilarious. oh its the ole 180 tail grab or 360 "frantically wave your arms so you don't fall" trick.

USA just mauled Slovakia 7-1. Didn't see that coming. Figured it'd be a one or two goal game.

That was amazing. There was a stretch there where I'm not even sure Slovakia had a goal tender
Now on to Norway v Sweden curling! May have to buy a pair of Norway pants!

USA controlled possession and seemed to spend most of their time in the Slovak zone. Nothing Halak and Budaj could do about that. They're pretty good goaltenders anyway.

The crazy thing was I don't think Big Z Chara was on for any of the 7 goals against, if anyone can come out on the losing side of a game like that with a good +/- you know they're a great defensive player.

Wake up early?? You must not have a 3-year-old in your house. HA!

That was a great example of American Exceptionalism. Take that, Vladimir!

Wonder what will happen to the official that took away Russia's 3'rd goal?

The leading candidate is Gulag. Second place Siberian exile. The dark horse is him being poisoned with the Costas Eye Infection

Put that in your Putin and smoke it!'
