absolutely hate this even if it is RU. Don't want to get in a Title IX debate but its slowly destroying mens non revenue Olympic sports

Also appears to be hurting women's non-revenue sports. Field Hockey and swimming and diving are both women's programs that got cut.

Just guessing, but I would think a lot of the field hockey vs. lacrosse thought process was probably driven by cost, seeing as women's lax is now sponsored by the Big South and field hockey was very expensive, with the weird NorPac affiliation.
