The Charleston Southern football program is getting a late Christmas present with former UAB quarterback Austin Brown expected to enroll in classes on Monday.

Brown will have two seasons of eligibility after spending three years (one as a redshirt) at UAB.

Brown was the Blazers' starting quarterback as a redshirt freshman in 2012, passing for 2,673 yards and 15 touchdowns while earning freshman all-conference honors in Conference USA.

Eh...no guarantee that he turns out to be all that good of a gift for them. Just because you played FBS doesnt mean youll rock the FCS. Will see how he does once he actually sees game action

This guy is actually going to play for another team in our conference. It's legit to discuss as opposed to the threads about FBS players who have simply announced they are going to transfer with no connection to LU whatsoever.

Let's see if he even beats out the guys that are there. Just because you come from an FBS school doesnt mean you get handed the job as soon as you step onto campus (at least that should be the case).
