Just thought I would start the conversation. Grobe resigned yesterday, AD said they would like to have someone with Private School experience. Might be interesting to see how this pans out.

Why not Gill? FBS HC experience. Able to succeed with restrictions. Plus about 2 or 3 others. I hope he stays but if they are going to look at Rocco how do you NOT look at Gill?

He already applied, so I think he wants to coach there.

Orgeron isn't your typical USC guy. He's of Cajun descent and really just passionate about being the head coach somewhere. He applied to Florida Atlantic too, which doesn't have the notoriety of a practice field at Ferrum College. I think he's one of the better recruiters in the country and could turn around WF's program really quick. Tim DeRuyter would be an excellent fit as well, but I'm not sure that he would leave Fresno State for Wake Forest. With all of the shifting in the Pac 12, he might hold off for an offer there.

Thanks for the info. I'm personally not sold on the way he handled his USC situation. He walked away from a pile of cash and left the kids he said he was so passionate about before their Bowl game. Any job he would have applied for would have waited and it would have been a nice way to cap off his time there. I'm not a fan of burning bridges unnecessarily

I agree with you. I might feel a little different had he beaten UCLA, but yeah, you don't do that when you were never promised the gig in the first place. That's definitely going to hurt his resume

Are you serious, dude was epic fail at Kansas.... Neither has a chance. Hiring the BC AD's Son - who is an OC for some NFL team I think.

Who WASNT an epic fail at Kansas?
Pete Carrol was an epic fail with the Jets. Bellicheck was an epic fail with the Browns. They seem to be doing ok now.

He's a mediocre coach. Had 1 good year at Buffalo, hot minority candidate publicly back by Charles Barkley. Happens to be a Christian so Barber falls in love with him. Blah blah blah. Still is a Co-Champ like Rocco. And didn't have to play Stony Brook this year either.

Are you always miserable and negative, or do you save it just for us?

The jury i still out on Turner Gill, I agree but come on he played a Coastal team which is going down as the most successful in conference history. Lets not act like the Big South hasn't improved since Gill got here. Not an excuse, because I still believe we should win the conference year in and year out, but don't try to spin reality to make your emotional opinions sound good.
