While you folks are expressing your Texas envy, this has me wondering if having FCS advocate Matthews out of the way actually increases the chances that JMU will now accept an FBS invitation from the MAC, CUSA or Sun Belt.

Who they hire will tell a lot, but I would say having Mickey out of the picture increases the chances of a move.

Sounds like Everett Withers is their new head coach. He's currently DC at Ohio State, was interim head coach at UNC. Sounds like a good get for them.

Coach Withers always struck me as a good man during his time in Austin. He was a strong recruiter for Mack back in the days when UT would bring in the #1 class in the nation on an annual basis. The fact that he was able to manage a winning record in that crazy season in Chapel Hill shows that he has potential. Frankly I would have thought he could have done better than JMU coming from DC at Ohio State.
