Its been a pretty busy last couple weeks for me. On top of having a baby at home AND a new job, I have been able to resurrect GMTM's show where I got my start in radio.

Friday Football Kickoff will have a new home and new format this year as it moves to WAMV AM 1420 in Amherst, VA. Ben James (that's my on air name) and Lynn Dixon will break down each week's action and talk to players, coaches and broadcasters throughout the area and get great insight as part of "Central Virginia's High School Football Pregame Show". The 2013 Season Preview Special airs live tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM, leading up to the Amherst Lancers Football Jamboree starting at 6 PM featuring two VHSL benefit games: Salem High School vs North Hall High School (GA), now coached by former Jefferson Forest head man Bob Christmas, kicks off around 6 PM. That game will be followed by Amherst County and Liberty Christian Academy at 8 PM. Justin Bishop will have the call of both games immediately following the show. You can tune in on the radio at 1420 AM, or on 1490 AM down in Farmville, or you can tune in online at www.wamvradio1420.com

Just wanted to let you all know that I will be making my first community appearance on behalf of the show tomorrow morning when I present one of LCA's football players with the Friday Football Kickoff Player of the Week award in their chapel service.

will this be streamed live or possibly taped for broadcast?

The presentation no but I will have an interview with the player of the week around 545 on my show Friday and that will be streamed live...if that was meant as a joke...i hate you

I am trying to figure out what would be a joke in that statement. He seemed legit curious. Don't kill your potential audience!

Well considering the number of times people have taken to making jokes about the goings on in my life (especially from PH), I had to hedge my bets on PA's response (and judging by his comment above PH apparently can't comprehend the need to stop doing that. I enjoy reading jokes a lot more than being the butt of them)

That's a fair question Jon...when I was going into making the show happened, I thought about sticking with BJ Williams, and when I talked to my boss at a radio station where I am a board op for Gretna football on Friday nights, they said that Ben James has a much more professional sound to it, so I got used to it this summer when I did some summer baseball games...all the coaches and ADs that I have talked to really like how it sounds too, so Im sticking with it...probably will keep it for future broadcast opportunities as well

I would have gone with Carlos Danger if it wasn't already taken

I'm a radio broadcaster not an embattled former senator/mayoral candidate who likes to take pictures of parts unknown...
