Anyone know why it is under staffed, resulting in VERY POOR service to the fans ?

…that would likely be because of a lack of communication between Athletics and Sodexo. My guess is that no one from Sodexo knew that the game was "sold out."

Yuck. It needs to be HOT (both temperature & spice). Otherwise, why should I waste my calories and money on it? :D

Unfortunately ballcoach it's always been this way. I know Saturdays game my receipt read LU hockey. You would think since they expected a bigger crowd there would have been more help. In their defense one stand was cash only and the other cards and cash but the workers had zero pep in their step. Kinda disappointing because some fans who were there would normally not come.

You wanna sell out your sell outs. You are right, because people came to that game that normally wouldn't and you want to have your ducks in a row to impress and have them come back.

I personally know of 12 fans that were there making their first trip to a LU game.

I utilized the smaller cash only stand. stood in line about 10 minutes to get peanuts and a diet Coke. Both were $2.00 each. the concession worker had to add 2+2 on his cell phone calculator to know that my total was $4.00.

Very poor management on part of someone. Everyone should have known game would draw a large crowd and planned accordingly.

The thing to note is that NEITHER Athletics nor Sodexho are the operators. They are run by Club Sports and have students operating them.

Liberty has always had terrible concessions. Far from FBS ready that's for sure

I would guess that most high schools have better concession operations.

I don't know if this is a joke or not nor do I know what kind of POS systems they're using, but my wife uses the square app on her phone and it requires you to add items individually if you want to keep an account of them. Cash or credit.

The POS systems are fine. They are touch screen with prices included and linked directly to the payment processor. They are used all over campus. No need for math to be done manually so doubt the report greatly.

Pca i would have to disagree. Football and basketball are run by sodexho. I did see many cincession workers with club sports shirts on so that makes sense. The POS system was only at the cash/credit stand from what i could see. The problem is not so the POS is more of the fact that they had one runner bringing food from the back to the counter. Maybe its because the place is so new but everything needs to be directly behind the counter. The only thing up front werw drinks and candy. The one runner was bringing up pizza and dogs per order. Bring that food up front, put in heaters and replenish as necessary. Under the set-up they have, they need at least one more runner. Simply ineffcient. Maybe one day the athletic dept will take the whole fan experience into consideration because it is very very slow right now.

One without grass.

Also one that can't cook anything at the field because of the ongoing construction. I had a hot dog a few weeks ago that was so cold and nasty that I may be forever scarred from ball park hot dogs. Heard later that they have to cook everything across campus and then bring it to the field - look forward to that being a thing of the past real soon.

My 2+2 comment was 100% true.

They need 4 or 5 "windows"/service points at the concession stand, so that fans do not have to stand in a long line. A fan should be able to go get a soda, hotdog or whatever without the threat of having to miss an inning or more of the game.
