Texas AD DeLoss Dodds:
Speaking of SEC foes, Dodds said the Longhorns and Aggies would resume their rivalry, but it would be on Texas' terms. However, he did say Texas fans don't want to play the Aggies.

"They left," Dodds said. "They're the ones that decided not to play us. We get to decide when we play again. I think that's fair. If you did a survey of our fans about playing A&M, they don't want to. It's overwhelming. I know. I hear it. Our fans are important to us. I think there's got to be a period where things get different. I think there's too many hard feelings."
It seems to me that things worked out pretty darn well for A&M… I guess you could say for A&M, leaving the "Big" 12 was no great DeLoss.

Typical of SEC fans still with the taste of sour grapes in their mouths of being turned down in their efforts to bring in the Longhorns. If A&M wants to be associated as an institution with the SEC, good on them.

called it. haha honestly good for texas for holding out. they are a national brand. They'll be fine in the long run. but I'm sure it does rub a lot of Texas fans the wrong way that A&M has seen so much quick success because of the move.

Saying the fans don't want to play A&M is a cop out. He must think everyone has an IQ of -10 if he wants us to believe the fans determine the schedule. Texas is just salty that A&M is more relevant as a national contender than Texas

They probably don't want to play them right now... because they'd lose to Johnny Football and co.

It doesn't matter all that much, but to me it makes the Texas AD and their fans look kind of childish.

For the record, I am not a Deloss Dodds fan. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if he was forced out in the very near future based on the current scandals.

No DeLoss of words for Sly! [:)]

Texas didn't "need" the SEC. The SEC didn't "need" Texas. But when all the shuffling is done, we will see who is better placed in TX.
