I just wanted to plug the film "Facing the Giants", which is scheduled to be released next week. It's about a losing high school football coach who had to square off with depression both on and off the field. He winds up turning to God in his situation, and subsequently turns his life around.
In any event, it's an independent film made by a church in Georgia with a budget of about $100,000. I saw the trailer, and it looks like it's certainly worth checking out. It's rated PG, which some had alleged was because of its heavy religious overtones (although the MPAA denies this, saying the rating is because of elements such as depression and mild football-related violence).
So yeah, if you're looking for some family-friendly entertainment next weekend, go check out "Facing the Giants". Or "jack*** 2".... No, wait, scratch that last one. Just check out "Facing the Giants".
