Another JH Football Scholarship Awarded

According to reports, Nick Saban has offered an 8th grader a Football Scholarship. Is it a good idea to offer a JH student a full ride scholarship to play football? Nope. But when LSU offered the kid a scholarship LAST summer, I'll give Saban a pass.
On another note: It's good to know that Saban plans to be around Bryant-Denny that long. ROLL TIDE!

It seems a former Bama coach encouraged his Tide players to hold the rope just before he slipped on over to Collie Station.
As for offers, they can be rescinded at any moment. My guess is that once the publicity subsides that the kid won't have an offer still on the table.

You think this was a publicity stunt? Or that the kid isn't really all that good? He seems like the real deal, but too much can happen in 4-5 years.
I don't think offering JH kids scholarships is a good idea… but you don't want the kid being offered a scholarship from a rival school and thinking for 5 years he's going to play for the Tigers.
The SEC should outlaw the practice, with the exception possibly being the present example (with an out of conference school of course).

They should be very careful with this. What happens if this kid doesn't graduate from Alabama? That would really screw up the SEC's excellent graduation rate.
