"@npierce84: Well, Mike London finally ran off Michael Rocco. Big mistake IMO." Huge. Agree. Unreal!

Bizarre. I only see UVa infrequently but he looked like the better quarterback of the two this year. He has a couple of of subpar games but Sims certainly didn't blow him away.

Yep Rocco should be the man. UVa was a better team with him at the helm... If true, I am very disappointed.

I agree Rocco was the better QB. But Rocco doesn't help you recruit the 757. And why are you quoting FlamesNation? You know they can't be trusted!

While I only saw one UVA game this year (the game against UNC), from that game alone it appeared to me that Rocco was the lesser of the two. Neither played extremely well or extremely poor but Sims was able to make the down field strikes where Rocco seemed to lack.

Then again, I do not really follow UVA so I could be completely off.

Mike fell victim to London's love of the 757 which is a joke. Sims was not impressive at all and if Rocco did not have to share snaps this year the hoos would have won a few more games but that still was not good..

All indications are that he intends to go to another BCS-level school. But I am sure he would be welcomed at either school where he has strong ties already in place.

Sims has shown flashes of his potential. He does have the stronger arm. But Rocco should have been the guy all season. Better grasp of the offense... More experience... Better poise in the pocket... With the experience gained this year, UVa should be no worse off with Sims as the starter next year. Rocco will do well wherever he goes and I wish him well.

If so he has to sit out one year and has only one year to play

If he wants to stay BCS that would be a perfect fit

Something to consider. Mike has a better chance of playing in a bowl game in the next 2 years at LU than he would at Penn State (or Richmond for that matter).

I am pretty sure Richmond was decent this past season. If you are comparing coaching history, it is at best a toss up.

Olldflame's key word here is BOWL game. Richmond's not going FBS, so no bowling for them.

Also, according to the local paper, Mike Rocco would even have to sit out a year if he went to an FCS school, since he didn't red shirt his freshman year. In the article, there was NO mention of Liberty as even a possibility, but Danny Rocco was quoted throughout.

agreed. a lot of talent and is developing.

and I don't see him going to Richmond. might be wrong but Rocco still has a pretty good QB coming back in Strauss.

Danny´s interest in Mike may be sincere, or it may just be obligatory that he at least gives an indication he wants to coach his nephew, For the record, Rocco beat Strauss out for a QB job once. No reason to believe he couldn´t do it again.
