Southeastern University News Release wrote:10.3.12 Football Picture Becomes Clearer as Administration Reveals Timeline, Construction Plans
The sound of thousands of football fans cheering on the Fire in an on-campus stadium could be heard a little more clearly this week.
On Monday, September 24, President Kent Ingle and other administration officials unveiled the most detailed plans yet for Southeastern University's proposed football program. They welcomed more than 100 business and community leaders to campus for a fundraising dinner through the Founders Circle giving club, where they shared renderings of a new stadium, financial details, and timelines for construction and hiring of staff.

I'll be honest, this school in Lakeland, FL wasn't even on my radar.

Those renderings are fantastic. Looks very much like an expandable setup and 5k is definitely big enough to go well above NAIA if they ever decided they want to.

I actually remember the old Chicago Fire of WFL in the mid '70s (which makes me old). Seems like they had a similar pattern.

Fairly close. The helmets were red, instead of blue or black, but the concept was pretty similar. This video is pretty low quality, but bumped up to 720p you get to see some giant helmet driving around on the field after the FG (around 5:15) that shows the design pretty clearly.

Nice find. Brings back memories. Even had the Chicago Fire theme song at about 7:00. To me, the short-lived WFL is kind of like the ABA and AFL. I grew up with it, and it was an interesting era in professional sports. Sorry to have sidetracked the thread but, for anyone else interested, here's a neat website on the old WFL: http://www.worldfootballleague.org/
