Seems like we should have a 2012 football thread for teams other than LU and our opponents.
ODU vs New Hampshire was ridiculous. UNH had leads of 30-10, 40-24 (halftime), and 54-38 (3rd Q), only to lose 64-61 on a FG in the final minute. ODU QB Taylor Heinicke was 55-79 for 730 yards and 5 TDs.
Another B1G team stumbled as Central Michigan won 32-31 at Iowa and Kirk Ferentz has got to be on the hot seat this year.

VMI down 27-3 in the 3rd and it shouldnt be that close.
GW down 48-10 early in the 4th.
Presby looked awful losing to an anemic Furman at home, and VMI not much better.

For those that didn't see the Miami-GT game today, it went like this. Miami 19-0, GT 36-19, 36-36 at the end of the 4th. Miami stops GT on 4th and inches in OT then runs it in on their 2nd OT play to win 42-36. I didn't get to watch all of it, but every time I checked in there was something ridiculous going on.

KState just went up 24-13 at Oklahoma with 7:27 left. Bill Snyder may be the best coach in college football. There's just no way you're supposed to build a powerhouse in Manhattan, KS these days.

watched the end of that one as KState hung on to win IN Oklahoma.
nicely done.
Clemmy's bid to upset FSU went south in the end of the 3rd/4th quarter as they just ran outta gas

Yeah, it took FSU's defense a while to catch up since they were playing the first legit offense they've seen this year, but eventually they took over and the FSU offense had enough to pull out the win. That was about the best showcase game the ACC could hope for there and really needs FSU to run the gauntlet and put up a good showing/win in a BCS bowl.

If you're watching a game other than Baylor-WVU, change the channel to FX. This is shaping up to be an epic shootout. 14-14 at the end of the 1st quarter.
The other somewhat intriguing scores are Miami 23-7 over NC State in the 1st as Al Golden may be getting that program rolling again which bodes well for the ACC, Middle Tennessee leading 14-7 at Georgia Tech in the early in the 2nd which doesn't bode well for the ACC, and Stony Brook leading Army 7-0 in the 2nd.

Baylor/WVU is 28-28 now, with 3:20 to go in the second. First time to 100 points wins!

35-21 MTSU over Georgia Tech with 1:59 left in the 3rd. Pretty odd score considering MTSU lost to McNeese St.

49-28 final, MTSU wins at Georgia Tech. WVU leads 63-56 with 10:49 left. The teams have combined for over 1300 yards of offense already. Stony Brook with a 23-3 win at Army.

West Virginia wins 70-63. Geno Smith with 656 yards passing and 8 touchdowns. The two QBs combined for 1,237 passing yards and 13 TDs (Nick Florence aka heir to RGIII, had 5)

WVU 70 Baylor 63
Look at these stats -
1,200+ passing yards
13 TD passes
Both teams with a 300 yard receiver
Unreal.

Beat me to it. I was really impressed with how much the defense has improved. 2 more wins for a bowl.

Stephen Morris of Miami (FL) with an ACC record 566 passing yards. what is with QBs putting up these insane numbers?

Defense isn't sexy. There's almost nobody who plays defense now if they can play offense once they get to the collegiate level. Throw in rules that badly favor the offense, instead of leveling the playing field, and you've got outdoor arena football.
