I need something to do before HR Management class...so, here's my idea. I'm going to give you five NFL games, you give me your predictions and/or reasons.

Chicago @ Green Bay - Line: GB by 5

My pick: GB won't cover but wins by 3.

New Orleans @ Carolina - Line: NO by 3

My pick: Carolina by 7

New York Jets @ Pittsburgh - Line: Pit by 6

My pick: Pittsburg won't cover but wins by 3.

Detroit @ San Francisco - Line: SF by 7

My pick: SF to cover the spread

Denver @ Atlanta - Line: ATL by 3

My pick: Denver by 10

Your turn. We can keep a tally on this throughout the season too.

Wow, an acknowledgement of the Texans existence. I wasn't sure anyone east of the Appalachians knew there was a second team in Texas.

Wouldn't taking PHI -4 mean you automatically have them with the straight up win?

Got ya. You have them covering the spread as well, right? That would mean that you think they'll win by more than 4 points if you take them at -4.

I went 2-3 as well. Manning's 4 picks killed me.

The officiating is somehow getting worse every week. What gets me about tonight, is how people are mad at Golden Tate for making that play.

cuz technically he didn't make a play.

But you can't be mad at him because someone else misjudged his play.

Was it a legal play according to NFL rules? No. Yet, it doesn't warrant people being mad at him for making the play. He just did what every natural athlete would do, give your team the best shot to win. His QB threw a hail-mary on the final play of the game, he did all he could to get the touchdown. It's the ref's fault for not making the call, there is nothing to be mad at Tate about.

I doubt many folks will actually do it, but I'm already planning a week of not watching any NFL games. What happened tonight was the worst officiated professional sporting event I've ever seen. I don't know how the NFL can pretend anything from these first three weeks is legitimate.

Maybe the funniest thing to come out of this, even funnier than Packer OL T.J. Lang's tweet that started with an expletive and ended with telling the NFL to use the money they fine him to pay the regular refs, is Clay Matthews taking to his Facebook page and posting the phone number of Roger Goodell. I'm betting there is already a plethora of epic voicemail messages that the bumbling commish won't want to hear a second of.

there is always a few bad calls every week in the NFL. Now they just have an excuse. Its great for the guys trying to make more money but the only real difference I have seen that annoys me is how long they take to review even the simplest of calls. The bad calls happen either way and always have
