Are you pulling for their football team under their new head coach? It will be interesting to see how his first few years go. I wish him success, but I also hope we get them on the schedule soon.

Richmond recruits the same guys we recruit. I hope they never win another game.

And as a UVa alum, I'm most definitely pulling for the 'Hoos!

I was going to post the same it's UR. And they are on the schedule beginning next year (unless of course the game is bought out).

I am pulling for them as much as I pull for Seth Curry, which is actually the opposite of pulling for them. I guess this means I am pushing for them.
Hahaha! Yep, I went there!

I would rather see Curry succeed than Richmond. At least Curry moved up in the world.
I don't get the lateral move. I am not going to complain too much, because I think he brought us as far as he could, but it still doesn't make much sense.

CAA football is not a lateral move. Not even close.

Fair enough, but it still isn't some amazing job. Its not going from Liberty to Duke...
Anyways, we are better off now anyways. He wasn't ever going to get us over the hump and he won't get Richmond back to where they need to be.
He will lay a foundation that crumbled quickly in Richmond. That is what he is good at.

It hasn't. We're in much better shape than when Rocco arrived. He'll do very well at a location that was a national title contender just 3 years ago.

I know. I'm not sure what he was talking about.

I think He was saying the foundation crumbled quickly at richmond (like it did at the end of the KK era here) and Rocco is good at re-building a foundation.

My beef with him is how he left and the back handed remarks about recruiting.

I fight the local media here in Richmond every season for them to mention Liberty. I tried countless times to get Danny Rocco (and will with TG) interviewed on local radio/tv stations. It never happened. Today I've been wanting to pull my hair out as I've heard DR twice on the radio and saw his mug once on tv.

Yeah, that is exactly what I was saying. Rocco did a great job laying the foundation here and will do a great job with rebuilding the foundation in Richmond.

Mike Rocco went 25-37 for 311 yards and 1 TD, and UVA beat Richmond 43-19. Hes been chomping at the bit to play against that 3-4, pick me apart defense , since he was in highschool.
Richmond had 28 yards on 21 rushing attempts. - The only years we were able to run the ball with Rocco were when we had RJ.

I am glad we don't have to deal with that crap 3-4 defense Rocco loves so much anymore

Now that Ur isn't playing UVa anymore this season, barring a stunning run by the Spiders I doubt you see much mention of them much moving forward this season.

Unless you live in Richmond...
