Nike’s Plan To Sell Umbro Continues Mixed Record On Deals

Nike Inc. (NKE), the world’s largest athletic-shoe maker, is selling the Umbro and Cole Haan brands after failing to turn the acquisitions into growth machines.
The transactions are expected to be completed within a year, the Beaverton, Oregon-based company said today in a statement. Nike acquired Umbro, the U.K.-based soccer-apparel and footwear brand, in 2008 for $567 million.

Means nothing to anyone else, but this is going to turn my work upside down.

I had no clue they were a nike entity. Their soccer gear did improve but never amounted to anything compared to nike and adidas in that area. interesting.

i bought one of my kids a pair of umbro all black checkered shorts at a goodwill a few weeks back. those were the good ole days.

i sported some umbro replacables back in the day, when i upgraded my replacables to lanzera top tech replacables. night and day difference.

I'm actually getting those black checkered shorts in a couple weeks.

These are the shorts, but in black and without that ManChity logo.

My girlfriend in HS wore Umbros....and man did she have the legs for it! I mean my current girlfriend does as well, she just doesn't wear Umbros
