Pretty surprised I haven't seen anything on here regarding the issue. I know most all of you know about the story, so that's not what I'm asking. I'm looking for the audio bite with his comments. I keep hearing people say that Ozzie said, "he loved Castro" but I haven't found anything regarding that. Anyone know where I could find the audio bite?

You'd have to find the original tape in spanish.

I don't mind what he said honestly. I hate Castro but whatever. I've heard a lot worse, plus, it's Ozzie. I admire someone who says what he believes. Even if I hate it.

I don't think he even knows what he is saying half the time. jbock says more outlandish things on a regular basis...

Obviously he did not believe what he said or he would not have apologized. If you believe it, say it and stand by it.

I think he's also said it in the past, but this current uproar is from an interview he did with a magazine, so I doubt the audio is available, just in print.

To Ozzie's credit though, there really isn't a true word for "love" in Spanish. I think. You can say "in love", or "like", but not "love" in the same literal way we do in English. But I'm so far removed from my South America days when I was fluent lol.

it was in time magazine i think. not audio.

like alumnus alluded too, he said near the same thing years ago here in town. it just got lost in all the other ridiculous he says and believe it or not, we don't have that large of a cuban community here in illinois.

the 30 people that are protesting him should of been protested the minute he was aquired and for the marlins to suspend him is hilarious evidence of their ineptness. you didn't vet this guy before you got him? even if he hadn't done this article, you don't think eventually your firey fans would have found the first time he said it?

he was speaking english during the interview. he claims to be thinking in spanish but this guys is only a likely excuse based off his past record as a manager/player.

okay. Thank you RM. Wasn't sure how he said, just heard how everyone was outraged because of it. lol.
