UNCA got shafted by the officials. They should not get another assignment during tournament.

Just listening to espn and I don't know who the analyst was, but I actually heard him say that he liked the call on the out of bounds because he thought it was actually a foul on UNCA, but the ref didn't want to call a foul at such a crucial point, so he just gave the ball to Syracuse. In other words, 2 wrongs make a right.

Care to give specifics? I'll give you the missed OOB, but ask any official, those are the toughest calls to make. The FT violation was correct. UNCA got a nice gift at the end of the 1st half, yet no one talks about that.
What about Dickey, speaking of 'shafted' , going 1-13 and missing a lay up off a steal near the end of the game? Did the officials play good D on him?

Yep. I'm sure if that was the officials rationale, he will be enjoying the rest of the t ornament just like the rest of us!

I didn't watch the game, but I love how everyone is focusing on UNCA. Syracuse is a better team, and in the end they had more talent. It's not exactly surprising. Yes UNCA played well, but they choked towards the end. Nobody loves bashing referees more than me, but the fact is that they 1-13 down the stretch. You can't exactly blame the refs for poor shooting

Seth Greenburg just said the same thing on the Herd w/Gottlieb. "Officials make that call all the time. They don't want to put a team on the line with the outcome of the game in the balance, so they just give it to them out of bounds." In other words, ignore what happened on the court, and do what is easiest for you.
