every year I redo my bracket because I end up with teams I don't really think will end up in the final 4, but this year I just went with my gut and am hoping for the best.

I just realized I spelled Tournament wrong. wow.

Went much more chalk than usual. One 9, three 10s, three 11s and one 12 get a win. The 12 and one 11 get to the Sweet 16. Elite 8 is three 1s, three 2s, and the East where 3 and 5 make it. Final is Kentucky over FSU.

EDIT: So far, 6-0 chalk and 0-2 upsets (picked Colorado St. and Long Beach St.).

What are the bonus points awarded for? I got several, so I like them whatever they're about. Perhaps I got a bonus for the stupidest pick, going with Montana. I thought it was football season. Otherwise, good day. Hats off to Manson: 15 of 16. Nice.

Its an upset bonus...if you pick a lower seed to beat a higher seed you get the round points for the game plus the numerical difference between the lower seed and the higher seed. For instance, I picked VCU to beat Wichita State (which they did) so I got the 10 points plus a 7 point bonus (12 seed over a 5 seed) for that game. If UNCA had beaten Syracuse and someone had picked that correctly, it would have been 10 points plus a 15 point bonus (16 seed over a 1 seed)

Thanks BJ! That's an interesting twist. The potential reward sort of offsets the risk of making stupid picks. Of course, picking VCU and Colorado was smart money. Picking Montana, in my case, was stupid. No amount of potential bonus points should justify that pick.

Sure it could, Montana was a hot team that dominated its conference all year. Picking upsets is always tough but that's why they call them upsets.

haha. But Montana wasn't a bad pick. But against Wisconsin? That was the deal breaker for me. Montana is talented, but I knew it wouldn't be enough to beat Wisconsin

I make it a policy to never read rules. Kind of like putting something together with no instructions.

I'm looking fine toward some more bonus points. Norfolk State hanging with Missouri. I saw Norfolk State play last weekend and thought somebody might be in trouble. That team has a lot of talent, and is not undersized. O'Quinn is a speciman. If they play defense, they have a great chance.

Not against Missouri though. There's just not much opportunity for upsets this year.
