Great game tonight, I thought Miami would win the way their offense play and the way ours was not. Anyway to alot of nay sayers who said Miami defense would be better then us since we lost many starters from last year, that was not the case this year. Our lbs Geno Hayes and Buster Davis were outstanding, our DL needs to get better.
I will not be on the site for two weeks, I am driving down to Fl tomorrow morning.

Your idea of a great game probably has more to do with the Noles winning than the level of play. That was easily won of the more boring games I've tried to sit through in a long time. Glad its finally over.

Be careful on your trip down south. Hopefully by the time you return we'll be riding an emotional high from a couple more Flames football victories.

Sure it is a great game anytime your team win. But boring, I guess so since their is not a lot of high scoring, but from a defensive standpoint you will not find too many teams with this kind of defenses. The speed of the defenses are outstanding. That is what happens when you get Florida boys. Thanks about the safe drive

Larry Coker is to Miami what Ken Karcher is to Liberty....

Karcher never had us ranked 12th in the nation.

neither has coker. the rankings and national championship have everything to do with talent. People like Ed Reed and Ken Dorsey won in spite of Larry Coker's lack of ability to be a head coach. He can't recruit and he can't coach on gameday. When Lee Corso can figure you out, you are in trouble. He hit the nail on the head last night. "Lousy coaching with ZERO halftime adjustments."

Delay on my plans, my aunt died last night and I had to turn around and come home so my sister can take my mom to the funeral. My aunt got saved 10 years ago and what a conversion and testimony she had since. I will get down to Fl next year.

Personally I think Coker maybe gone after this year, firing six asst coaches from last year, especially the line coach who is now the line coach at U of Miss was especially dumb. Ole Miss I believe was last in rushing last year in the SEC, Sunday againist Memphis, over 250 yrs rushing.
Coker is gone if UM loses 5 or more games this year, just my guess

I sincerely doubt the U drop 5 or more games with that schedule they have. They are in the ACC for crying out loud. (Just for you, smoothie) :)

Seriously, firing all of your assistants is the last ditch effort of all coaches about to get canned themselves.

the game looked sloppy because the defenses played great...if you are a fan of great defense you are a fan of this game....if not, well then i guess this game sucked to watch for you....

i am an FSU fan, and this was not the most entertaining game, but both defenses played great and it was a good game to watch....i guess the casual fan isn't going to be much into it since it wasn't an offenseive shoot out....but defensive battles are great to watch too and the different strategies coaches try.....

Gotta object. Just b/c the score was close doesn't make it a great game. For the last several years, these two teams seem to have brought out the worst performances in each other. Look at the rushing yardage for this game: 3 total yards combined! That's not great defense, that's poor execution.

That's two inches per carry.

i am not saying it was a great game...it was great defensive performances by both teams....when 2 defenses play like they did last night of course the offense is going to struggle...if you don't like defense then this game wasn't for you.....

that was one of the most boring college football games i've ever watched...

boring because the defense shut down the offenses....and if you have little interest in either team you aren't going to care...its ok

Both offensive lines were breaking in new starters, I think FSU had 3 new starters while UM had 4 new starters. Advantage goes to the defense in that case. As a matter of fact I don't think FSU QB was sacked, which is remarkable.

i can recall 3 or 4 times that he should have been sacked and miami simply missed the tackle...go figure

My point exactly. Both teams are much better when they play someone else. I don't know if it's maybe that they get so worked up that fundamentals go right out the window but, for the last several years, this has been one sloppy game after another. In my opinion, opening up with each other doesn't help either program get off to a good start.

Its been fun watching them expose each other. Frankly, I could see FSU possibly runnign the table with the joke of the schedule they have in front of them. The Hokies could be the only thing standing in their way even though they are not that great either.

Easy schedule please if anyone has one it is WV. FSU doesnt play VT this year

FSU has a national title contender. Both defenses are tops in the nation. The reason for a defensive game is defense always has an advantage in an opener. Offenses are always still a little rusty. It's not exposed in teams like OSU, Texas, pretty much everyone who open with cupcakes. Weatherford made adjustments and settled down, played well in the second half. More of that to come. FSU may have the best team in the nation.

I am not saying FSU is the best team in the nation or anything...but i think this year more so then any other its hard to laugh at a statement like that, simply because there is no clear "best team"....

Well better then some teams who started out playing patsy 1-AA teams for openers. At least we played a top 15 team.

Played poorly, but you did play.

I have a feeling by Sunday we'll have a clear cut #1.
