very sorry to hear about Wheldon, way too young. Married w/ 2 boys, I believe.

I watched this crash...absolutely horrific...If you see the video, its a brutal crash. One car literally flew and then hit the fence.

Very eerie. What would have happened had they not switched cam angles?
Didn't get a ride till the last minute at Indy 500 but won it. Lost his ride then gets a special exemption to race in Vegas. Very sad.

The camera would have lost feed upon impact with the catch fence. Some genius would have turned it into a documentary about a driver's last moments.

I'm surprised it's taken this long to look at the structure of those fences, as they've basically acted as cheesegraters the moment they were put up.

All cameras are recorded by the networks for instant replay. They had to have the video from inside Wheldon's car. They showed great restraint by exercising some good judgement.
