A Sea Of Red

Anybody ever done a death pool? I thought it would be fun if we get enough participants.

Rules:
1. You must pick the outright WINNER (No point spreads) for one NFL game each week.

2. A team may only be selected once during the season (i.e., if you pick the Vikings in week 1, you may not select the Vikings again for the remainder of the contest).

3. You continue in the pool until a loss (or tie) is suffered, then you're out. YES, TIES ARE LOSSES!

4. Players WILL NOT recieve a BYE. They must select a team each week.

5. Picks must be submitted BEFORE THE WEEKLY DEADLINE. If you forget to make a selection you will be given the most commonly selected team that week, ties will be broken alphabetically (as they appear in the selection list). If you have already picked that team you will be given the second most selected team.

Week 2 12:00pm, Sunday September 18th
Week 3 12:00pm, Sunday September 25th
Week 4 12:00pm, Sunday October 2nd
Week 5 12:00pm, Sunday October 9th
Week 6 12:00pm, Sunday October 16th
Week 7 12:00pm, Sunday October 23rd
Week 8 12:00pm, Sunday October 30th
Week 9 12:00pm, Sunday November 6th
Week 10 7:20pm, Thursday November 10th
Week 11 7:20pm, Thursday November 17th
Week 12 11:30am, Thursday November 24th
Week 13 7:20pm, Thursday December 1st
Week 14 7:20pm, Thursday December 8th
Week 15 7:20pm, Thursday December 15th
Week 16 7:20pm, Thursday December 22nd
Week 17 12:00pm, Sunday January 1st

6. Players who fail to submit a pick for three (3) consecutive weeks will be removed from the pool.

7. It is your responsibility to make sure your pick is submitted and accurate.

8. The game will continue until one contestant remains or the NFL regular season comes to an end. If the NFL regular season ends with no outright winner, all remaining participants will be declared winners.
If all remaining participants are eliminated in the same week, they all remain alive and continue on to the next week

Sounds like fun...but rule 4 and 6 seem to contradict each other just a little bit.

Alright, this is only fun if we get a dozen + to play.

4 and 6 do not contradict each other. Read rule 5 for clarification.

If you don't pick a team, you don't get a "bye" or a free pass. You get the most commonly selected team for that week.

Then if you don't pick for 3 straight weeks and rely on the most commonly selected team for that week, you will be eliminated.
