The partnership recognizes Waste Management as the "Official Environmental Partner" of the Big South Conference.

All I can utter in amazement to myself is "Wow".

Great to see Kyle places a priority in associated with garbage collectors and not schools like Charlotte. Wait, what?

I understand you guys don't like Kyle, or pretty much anything he does, but getting a large national corporate sponsor/partner doesn't seem like a bad thing to me. Yeah, it is a little off the wall to partner with a trash company, but isn't getting corporate sponsors/partners also the role of the conference office?

I highly suspect that a Houston-based company approached the league and not vice versa. But I understand your point which has validity. But when the addition of a prodigal school and a partnership with a trash company are the crowning achievements of recent memory there are deeper problems in Charlotte.

I'm guessing they mistook that green and gold WM for William and Mary at first?????

This might not be all bad, guys. Maybe we can get some WM porta-potties for our tailgates with a BSC logo. Nothing says BSC like a WM company as a sponsor.

Reminds me of the year I coached a T-ball team where Discount Toilets was our sponsor.

This is really what I was getting at.

This is a good deal for the conference though. I doubt any schools have sponsorship deals with garbage collectors, so it will be much easier for the BSC to promote this one. The deal with Papa Johns has brought up plenty of complaints from schools like High Point, who has an exclusive deal with Pizza Hut. These odd industries are perfect targets for the conference.

What's to like? The fact that we get very little money from our conference? The fact that when we have big events, they limit us from selling sponsorships in favor of promoting the conference's sponsors and again we see very little financial benefits from them.... The fact that they come in and bring in their own Television crew, at a exorbitant expense, rather than just pay ours to produce for pennies on the dollar? The fact that they do nothing to help promote the league in a way in which will help their schools?

I don't know? Maybe we just don't see much being done to improve...

No doubt, the Charleston Southern stadium could really benefit from this partnership.
