Owners brought all this on their selves. Their loose and wild spending on marginal players raised the salary expectations in contract negotiations for every player. Now the owners are complaining about the players making too much money? Well they can't make "too much" money if the owners don't hand it out to them. Like handing out 7 million a year to Jerome James and Darko - those players would have been idiots to turn down those contract offers. Those contracts forced NBA teams to offer guys like Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay max contracts when they are obviously not max contract type players. Owners also approved the soft cap that enabled teams with money to spend like crazy.
