CCU having trouble completing football schedule...

Thanks to Towson and my Employer Georgia State CCU is having some difficulty finding games. They had to drop their game with Georgia Southern back to 2015 to do some shuffling. In Georgia State's defense Houston came to us late and said hey we'll pay you an obscene amount of money to come plays us and we said Sorry coastal.

I guess Coastal can go back to the D3 schedule they're known for playing :D But do they have more money games to play?

I know you put a smiley there, but you do know that they routinely have the best schedule in the conference, right?

Agreed with Jon...CCU probably has some of the highest schedule strength of anybody in the BSC. with some of the schedules they have put together Id go on record and say that we'd get smashed in quite a few of their non-conference matchups

I'm keeping a blog post updated with our scheduling drama, you can read it here.

Needless to say, none of us are happy that we dropped Georgia Southern for CATAWBA. :BS

Here's our schedule as it stands right now:
Coastal Carolina (INCOMPLETE, NOT OFFICIAL) wrote:09/03/11 – Week 01 | Furman
09/10/11 – Week 02 | Catawba (Previously was @ Georgia Southern)
09/17/11 – Week 03 | at Georgia
09/24/11 – Week 04 | OPEN DATE (Previously filled by Georgia State)
10/01/11 – Week 05 | OPEN DATE (Previously filled by Towson)
10/08/11 – Week 06 | VMI
10/15/11 – Week 07 | at Liberty
10/22/11 – Week 08 | Gardner-Webb (Should be Homecoming)
10/29/11 – Week 09 | at Stony Brook
11/05/11 – Week 10 | Presbyterian
11/12/11 – Week 11 | at Charleston Southern
11/19/11 – Week 12 | OPEN DATE (Previously our BYE week)
PS, if anyone's interested, the rest of the Big South football schedules can be found in this thread over on CoastalFans. I figured it would be nice to have them all compiled in one place for easy reference. Can't believe CSU is playing a D3 this year.

I can't imagine you finding any D1s to fill out your schedule. You could very easily have 3 d2s

They are Chuck South after all... :D But they usually play a few money games, so they're justified.

What are the chances they have to pick up two more D2 games? I just don't see how they could find D1 games this late.

In case you guys wanted to stay updated, we've added a game on Nov. 19 vs. Western Carolina University. WCU fans are saying the game will be in Cullowhee but there's been no official announcement yet (at least none I can find).

If week 12 really was gonna be your bye randy this works out well because 11 straight games with no bye week will beat up any team no matter how good they are. I know EC Glass plays 10 straight at the HS level and they are pretty much gassed my the 7th or 8th game because there is so little downtime.

You guys did a pretty good job. Sure you have to play at A&T and WCU but those two should be wins (especially A&T).

Congrats, Randy. You filled the holes without going to the DII well. Around here we appreciate how challenging that can be.

THey are playing Catawba Sly but its probably better that they only have the 1 DII game (and having the bye week where it is now is much better than having to play 11 consecutive D-1 games
